The Nightshift with RespawnMachine - Stream Starting Soon

This is a video that runs before the streamer comes on air. Obviously I took a lot of inspiration from the Emergency Alert System broadcasts, but the feature I am the most proud of is the sound design. The sound design presents the presence of a thunderstorm on a hot summer day, the hum of electricity on a nearby structure, the wind kicking up and an emergency vehicle or two in the background. As the video progresses, the storm builds steam and gets closer, culminating in gale force wind and cracking thunder as sirens go off. I particularly like the drop-off at the end, where the only thing left is the numbers station that was quietly layered under everything else, as the screen flashes “begin broadcast”.
